Rain, Rain and more Rain

Hello Everyone,

Yep, the rain came as predicted. And I know that we needed the rain to help push down the weed killer that was applied to our lawn and garden, but i really don't like rain. It didn't start till 9:00AM however, so I got a little rain free sale time in.

Unfortunately I didn’t find anything I couldn’t absolutely live without - or anything that was such a good deal, I just had to have it. I guess yesterdays haul was enough for both days.

Speaking of yesterdays purchases - here they are.

Just look at these beautiful Egyptian ornaments (be still my heart) and aren't these pictures drool worthy. Also in the stash were some vintage cabinet cards, an old rusty bird cage, and some old wrapping paper.
I don't know if you can see them but I also got an old rouge compact and a mirror compact (not real old but nice).
This is just a smattering of the sheet music that was in the flat I bought. Loved that these had such nice pictures on the covers. Most of the rest were just music books. I say that like they aren't cool, but they are and I'm sure I'll make use of them in one art project or another.
Also in the picture are some old nut cups and a few cupcake toppers.

Can't pass up old children's books, no matter how old or abused, and some of these are in rough shape. But again, I'm sure they will find their way into a project or two. Yep, the first picture in the post is from the little Dictionary.
I have always loved Robert Louis Stevenson, so I love "A Child's Garden of Verses". The inside inscripton reads: To Kenneth Clark from Tommy Bristow, 5th Birthday, August 1, 1939.
I hope Kenneth enjoyed it in his time, because I surely will.

I also got a couple of old travel postcards from the 30's thru the 50's.

Well, I best go fold my laundry before they wrinkle too bad.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
Penny

What a haul! Mom loves the Egyptian ornaments. and, she says she loves the rain, because if nothing gets done, she doesn't feel THAT guilty! she blames the weather!

Hi my Penny friend...I want you to live on Penny Lane with me. We would have a divine lifetime together out thrifting and seeking free piles. Keep a gnome in your heart for good luck and enjoy your weekend also! Raining in Washington too...not that shocking for April....April showers bring May flowers. Hold on to the hope of that!
I'm busy writing Jelly Bean Island. Come on over and visit me again sometime, I miss you!
