Hello everyone,
I want to thank each and everyone of you wonderful people, kitties and woofies for sending me such wonderful birthday wishes. Big hugs to each and every one of you.
I am so tired after my whirlwind long weekend celebration - I'll need a year to rest up.
But it was so wonderful. Sir Knight wined and dined me at some of my favorite place, took me gambling on a few of the river boats, shopping to some antique malls we haven't been to in quite some time and he was even sweet enough to walk around Hobby Lobby with me - even though he does not particularly like the place. How wonderful is that?
Pictured above are some of the neat presents received from my two guys. The punch and packages of brads are parts to my new I-top. Brad top maker. The I top itself is on order at this time at Scrapaganza, our local scrapbook store. No one else with in a 60 mile radius had it or even knew what I was talking about. So I am an extremely happy Old lady. I have been wanting one for about two months now - and soon - I'll have it and be able to play.
This is what my Niece and her family sent me. - Notice they made sure I knew I was 60. I love all the butterflies - so who can be sore that they like to rub a little salt into the wounds. (just kidding kids,)
I Love you all and I can take a joke.
This is what my Brother and Sister-in Law sent me. - Ooooh, gift cards - they are burning a hole in my pocket already. Can't wait to go shopping. Look at that necklace isn't it stunning. I love it
Hugs,
Penny (may be 60 -but doing the aging bit in style)

Wonderful Wednesday
Hi Evffurry one,
Look what my friend Sophie sent me. Treats!!!! Yummy ones at that. I never had this kind before, but they sure are good. I wanted to eat the whole bag, unfortunately Pellie wouldn't let me.
As you can see I finished the few they gave me and wanted more - and if I didn't get more - I would not be Mr Nice guy anymore and let them shove the flashy box thing in my face. Well I didn't get any more treats so no more pictures for them.
That's all that happened today.
Catch you all later.
Purrs,
Genghis
Oh yea, I almost forgot my manners. Thanks so much Sophie, I love the treats.

Hello everyone,
It may have been hot and humid outside -
but inside it has been cool comfy and full of friendship.
A friend stopped over today to spend a few hours visiting - since Sir Knight keeps telling me I will have a very busy birthday weekend. We shared iced tea and good conversation while time seemed to fly by. Soon Sir Knight was home from work and heading into the kitchen carrying a very big box. It was for me from my friend Dana over at Sinderella's Studio. of course I had to rip into it right away and my friend enjoyed sharing my excitement and looking at all the pretties.
I had entered one of Dana's Challenges, made a postcard, and won a prize. From the picture I submitted - Dana made me some real time postcards to send out through the snail mail. - these I knew would be coming - but I never expected so many other beautiful things.
Here's what she sent. Isn't it all awesome.
My new postcards are sitting on the great book - explaining different collage techniques and ideas to help my muse "Take Flight" which happen to also be the name of the challenge.
Pretty teacups in the back - with tea to serve up in them - but for a closer view I'm going to make you come back next Tuesday - for Teacup Tuesday. Mean aren't I? Yea, that's what happens when you get old. She also sent a rubber stamp that say's Queen of Tea.
Thank you so much Dana. I absolutely love everything.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
Hugs,
Penny

My 7th Teacup Tuesday
Good Morning Everyone,
Well here it is Tuesday and you know what that means. Yep! It's Teacup Tuesday. Once again I am participation in this wonderful event hosted by Martha and Terri.
Please forgive me for not signing off at the end of this post but for some reason I can't seem to be able to get print under the last picture.
This first cup I am showing you is actually is one of the cups - from my set of China. I purchased my China when I turned 16 and had my first paying job. I was working part time at SS Kressge making $2.00 an hour . Knowing I wanted pretty China I saved every penny I made - till I had enough to put this pretty Noritake set on Layaway - then I headed to Goldblats Department Store put my down payment in the sales girls hands and signed up for layaway and must have made payments for at least a year if not more before I could bring my treasure home. My family thought me a bit strange for investing in China before I was even engaged or had even been to college. But they dutifully stored it for me, out of harms way.
This next set is a bargain purchase at a yard sale and more of a demitasse size and I fell in love with the roses on it. So I plopped down my 50 cents and walked away a happy camper
This cup and saucer are also more of the demitasse size A small treasure from Lefteris, which I was told was a name used by Lefton China Co. for awhile. But I have been unable to find any real history about if that is true or not. If someone knows for sure - please let me know. I just loved the flowers and the lacey saucer.

July Challenge and National Hot Dog Month
Hello Everyone,
I’m Late - I’m Late - and just a little bit behind. I am trying to at least get kind of caught up - so I can take a breath or two and start working on a few of my projects, that I promised to participate in.
I took up the challenge for Mind Wide Open - but due to my behindness forgot to get it posted in on time. So this will be my only showing for this project. The word prompt this month was bliss - but when I looked at the picture Gail gave us - it really didn’t evoke a feeling of bliss in me and it may have been my imagination but the lady in the picture didn’t look all that blissful to me.
So here is what I created:
The poem is an original by me - written during my younger years, when I was bemoaning the loss of the boy I thought would be my everything in life.. I certainly don’t want anyone thinking I am suffering from depression at this stage of my life; as Sir Knight did when he first saw this project. Even with my Fibromyalgia - I am content and happy with my life. And so glad it never worked out with the other yo-yo -because I have truly found my soul mate in Sir Knight.
Even though I didn’t get entered - feel free to go over to MWO and vote for the piece that speaks to you. All of us artist and would be artist need encouragement to keep plodding on.
On another note. July is National Hot dog month and Friday was Hot dog night. Sir Knight and I certainly joined in and enjoyed some pretty tasty Chicago Dogs. Homemade of course - since no one out here in this neck of Illinois really knows that much about real Chicago Dogs. Being we both came from Chicago - we may not be connoisseurs but we sure know more than most .
Next Sunday is My Birthday - and I will be reaching one of those milestone years -so we will be celebrating a little all week long. Got to take things slow at my age you know. LOL Therefore, not to sure how much posting I'll manage to do.
Hugs,
Penny

My 6th Teacup Tuesday
Hello Everyone,
It's Tuesday and that can mean only one thing. It's Martha and Terrie's Teacup Tuesday.
My teacup were put on hold during all the partying I was doing in June but I am happy to say I'm back and feeling in the pink. . So without further ado let us begin.
Made in China and I love it.
This next cup is also Pretty in Pink
This little cup was a gift from Sir Knight - for out 1st anniversary - It was saucerless when he bought it - but we paired it with a cupless saucer we found antiquing and I think they look wonderful together.
Hope you enjoyed seeing some more of my pretties.
Hugs,
Penny

Frivolous Feline Friday
Hey Guys,
It's me Genghis Khat.
Pellie has one of Her-grain headaches so - she said I could do today's post.
Since I wasn't prepared for today's visit - I thought we'd just post this great pic of me. I'm all boxed up with no where to go.
For all of those who are not as thrilled to see pictures of me, as I am; I posted some cute comics Sir Knight brought home for Pellie. Since they were from 2006 - they had to remind him of Dale, cuz I wasn't around yet. Heck I wasn't even born yet.

Happy 4th of July
written by William Tyler Page
I believe in the United States of America,
As a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.
I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.
Adopted by an Act of Congress April 6, 1918
We're Back
Hello everyone,
What a whirlwind time we had in June. Wore myself out and had to try an get a little R&R in. At least that was the plan. But you know what they say about the “best made plans of mice and men.”
Here is what was happening this past week.
Well there was yard work screaming to be done - starting with cleaning up this mess from the high winds we had. When we got that under control - we could mow the lawn and all the normal little everyday stuff.
There was shopping to do, starting with a quick stop at Borders which proved to be very fruitful to me and just look at those prices. No way I could pass these up.
Then it was time for our quarterly trip to Sam’s Club to stock up on food and paper products - before our out of state company arrived.
Then there was an auction that promised many delectable goodies, we didn’t think we could live without.
Although we didn’t get everything we wanted - as some went higher than we were willing to pay - we did make a substantial haul - as you can see.
Of Course everything that came in the house had to be put away and quickly since company was coming - and that is a job in itself.
The house needed to be cleaned - company entertained
and so this week I was away from my blog, turned out to be just as busy as could be.
“No rest for the wicked,“ I guess. Oh man I must be wicked. LOL
Hugs,
Penny
Hey guys,
Genghis here - I just had to push Pellie out of the way so I could at least say Hi! and let you know I was still around.
A week without the Computer was real hard on me - I think I went through withdrawal or something. Or maybe I was still Mad and didn't know it.
I'll be around visiting soon.
